Graduates,

Welcome to the real world! We are now transitioning into what we have looked forward to starting from when we were young, yet naive adolescents running around in this world with such wonder and curiosity. For those of us who were ready to leave college, and move on to bigger and better things, well the time has come. And it’s happening right now. It happened as soon as we walked off that stage with smiles all around. For some the smiles also come with sadness. There’s no doubt we will miss all the things that have come to shape us and ultimately bring us to ourselves. There’s no other place in this world where we will have all our friends so close together in proximity, parties that we loved and some not so much, professors that may or may not have been a strong influence, relationships that were blessings or lessons, and also sharing that sense of school spirit and identity with our peers. There’s no other atmosphere quite like college as an undergraduate, and for that I hope you can walk away from it all and feel the soundest sense of accomplishment. I hope you all know how blessed you are to have had this opportunity. To be able to say you made it this far sets you far apart from many, so be thankful! These past years have been filled with countless obstacles that you have personally persevered through, and joyous memories that you can now forever have a place for in your heart. Saying goodbye to it all is undeniably difficult to do. To feel fear for the future is common. But keep your head up and your mind right, and you will already be setting yourself up to win. I want to keep this short and sweet, but I also wanted to take the time to write this and tell you all how proud of yourselves you should be. If you know me on a personal level or just as a friendly acquaintance, I want to say how personally proud I am as well. So feel free to do your dance and make your achievement known. You most definitely deserve it. To end this I will leave you with some words of wisdom as you close one chapter and advance to a new one in your life.
